As a public school educator looking to make a difference, Brandon started an Esports team/club at his school to encourage better grades and engagement for students that were overlooked. Six weeks into the season, the district disbanded the program because it was just "gaming". After seeing the defeat in his students' eyes, he knew he had to offer outside encouragement and assistance to those who wanted to pursue their dreams of streaming, gaming, and eSports. From that, Brandon started Darkened Cyrus to help those looking to get into content creation and streaming with brutally honest tech reviews and tailored tutorials for streaming software.​
Since the growing success of his YouTube career, Brandon had the opportunity to move into marketing at a local real estate office where he worked closely with agents on social media campaigns as well as managing a YouTube portfolio from script to publish. He now offers the same services to local businesses and brands who are looking to expand their social media footprint through services like product photography, real estate photography, client interviews, video podcasts, and YouTube content.​
